Hand-pulled half-pint in 'The Wellington' Birmingham (West Midlands) on 5th Dec 2012.
Stout dark, with a good solid tanned head that produced some impressive lacing on my glass.
As you'd expect from a stout, this was all malts: toasted, semi-burnt malts to be exact. Those malts gave the beer liquorice, chocolate and coffee flavours: in both the nose and taste, all with equal measures, and along with the hop content gave the the beer a good balanced feel.
Nicely put together, sad I could only have the half-pint, but there was more shopping to do according to the lady with me!
