From Club del Gourmet of El Corte Ingles. In Teku glass. After dinner. Half bottle, as my teku glass was broken and spilled half of the beer. Nice, well balanced stout. Much better than other pagoas ive taken. And I even had it served too cool. Wouldnt mind to repeat if price is good

330ml green bottle. Nonic glass. Pours very dark brown in color, headed by quickly dissipated & tan crown. Roasted, coffee aromas & sour hues. Yeasty, vinious-like flavors. Light body. Moderate to high carbonation. Creamy to watery texture. Quite sharp floral bitterness, hints of licorice, slight sour touch & roasted bacon notes in the middle. Dry bitter finish. Dried aftertaste with coffee grain memories.

A: very dark, opaque with a nice creamy beige head, with good retention evendo the foam is not compact, seems a little bit strange like open bubbles
S: some roast and dark fruit
T: at the very beggining tiny sweet notes appear, next acidity is presetn ending with a coffe/toasted flavour, with a light body compared with expected according to the style

Forgettable light stout, far from offering a cogent character it displays quite an irregular profile.
Presentation: 33 cl green capped bottle. Pagoa branding with a brown range and a centerpiece symbol of a flower/star. Label offers perfunctory legal notes, ingredients, and best by date (07-12). Shows Alc. by Vol. (4.3%). Served in a tall glass.
A - Dark brown pour, with a fair frothy head, medium retention, some surface memory and a bit of lacing.
S - Ugly beginning with a skunky touch that fades offering a faint malty sense.
T - At least the skunky touch is almost absent other than for a minimal stroke early on. Bitterness overwhelms roasted notes, which are there but barely before the bitter touch, generic and not too pleasing malty sense over the light hoppy balance.
M - It's a light/dry stout but it feels way to thin, body is light, with medium to low carbonation that does not hide a watery sense.
D - Smell and inconsistent character profile don't do much of a positive service to a brew that tries to have a fair lingering roasted profile.
Notes: While not awful this one is all over the place. The flavor moves and not in a nice way, and the Pagoa skunky initial whiff is still there although fortunately not so strongly. There is a good brew beyond the distant horizon but it is going to take them a strong effort to make it there.

Pours a pitch black with a small tan head. Head retention is poor but there is a little bit of lacing left behind.
A lightly sweet, malty aroma pairs up with a hint of roast. There isn't much going on in this tropical stout.
Toasty with some acrid roast. A hint of sweetness. Very dry finish. It's okay but not all that inspiring.
A medium light body with moderately high carbonation. The carbonation tingles the tongue. Okay but it doesn't quite click as a stout.
An okay stout probably well suited to the Basque climate. Not great compared to other Extra Stouts.
