Appears honey orange colored with a small white head.
It smells of honey, flower, berries, grain and grass. There is also nice mild peppery fruity yeasty flavor as well. This is very nicely balanced the rose hips add a nice floral smell yet the floral smell is not overwhelming.
It tastes initially of yeasty peppery fruity raison and citrus like. There is a nice mild honey like flavor. Though the honey flavor is quite dry. The rose hips is present in the end but they do not add a sweet floral flavor instead they add a bit of a bitter dry pollen like taste to the ale. There is a bit of an earthy, bitter, and nutty aftertaste. This is quite complex and nicely balance. The ale goes down very smooth.
The carbonation of this beer is moderate low and there is smoothness to the beer that is quite nice.
The drinkability is very good the beer has a nice bold flavor yet the flavors all blend together very nicely. I could drink this all night.
Overall a great innovative beer that is very drinkable. Another great beer from Ambacht.
