Pours a clear, pale golden coloration with a large, fluffy head and visible carbonation. Smells of doughy, slightly grainy malt and floral, grassy hops. Taste is a good balance of sweet'ish doughy, grainy malt and bitter, floral, grassy hops, with some wet hay and just a hint of citrus also coming through. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some grainy malt, floral hops and wet hay lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This is a somewhat malt-forward Helles that's a bit too sweet and grainy for my personal taste, but still balances that sweetness out nicely with a semi-dry, bitter finish, while there are some faint floral, grassy hops to this as well, with much lighter accents of wet hay and citrus. Overall, a decent Helles that's a bit too malty for me, lacking a crisp hoppiness, although this may also be due to the fact that this bottle is only 2 weeks away from it's best-by date, so most likely between 6-12 months old. This wouldn't be an issue if brewers set the 3-month best-by date for their product that hoppy beer deserves. Nevertheless, I have adjusted my score slightly (not by much) upwards to make up for the age somewhat.
