Really, our first commercial batch (brewed in Nov. '09) was so good that we're keeping it in the rotation. Pale malt, an English blend yeast and German hops were combined and Craggie's pale ale was crafted with a tart bitterness and lingering herbal hoppyness. ABV 4.2%
Suprised to see this one on tap again I could not pass up the opportunity to try it. Nice and well rounded amber color with a smooth and even head that capped it nicely. Again great clarity gave way to a nice clear look to the beer overall. Aroma was light, some piney hops and light citrus notes, a touch of biscuit malts coming through as you take the first sip. Rolls lightly across the palate and leaves you looking for another sip right away. The orange and light grapefruit on the palate are rolled away with tons of malts and a light clean finish.
A solid pale ale for sure, nothing that is going to blow the doors off, but this one is not really going to dissapoint much either.
