Went to the grand opening of Strand Brewery after they moved to their new location. These were available as a limited release.
Poured dark and caramel in color with light transparency in a tulip glass. Foam took a minute, but it eventually reached about a finger and a half.
Aroma is very strong and sour with tones of oak and strong malt on the nose.
Tastes of caramel and malt. A bit of sour touches on the sides of tongue, and it sits very thick. Lingers somewhat dry and earthy at the end.
Overall a good beer, but this had to have come from the barrel recently, because it's just one big, thick, malty beer that could afford to sit in the bottle for maturation. I'll be interested to see how this tastes a few months down the road.
