Not much aroma, but big on the citrus...not overpowering though. Had at the brewery, so it tasted very fresh.

This was recommended to me at my favorite store... Not at all what I was expecting - very dark and lacks many features of an IPA.

Picked up a bottle of this and the White Sand to compare. Poured into a tulip glass while helping my daughter unpack at her dorm. First impression was that I was expecting a double black IPA. Color was amber with a nice head. Not too hoppy for a 2IPA. I liked this one more than the White Sand (which is not a white ale, by the way). I'll have either get the next time I'm in SoCal.

I'm giving this a 1 out of 5 b/c this beer is not a IPA by any stretch of the word, let alone a double IPA as its states on the label. Wouldn't classify as an English IPA or an American IPA. If it was listed as a Red Ale it would be a 3.5/5.

S: Burt caramel, toffee, sour cherries and some citrus fruit
