Poured into a tall pilsner glass (from the 2011 World Beer Festival in Durham, NC). Picked up randomly at Thanksgiving time. Always up for new German pilsners. Cool fliptop bottle, too.

Yeasty and a bit stale in the crystal malt flavors with a bit of a "hard water" feel. The biscuit note and texture are mostly on point. This has a bit of funk but is a fairly standard old-world presentation of the style. Reminds me of unfiltered pilsners I had in Europe back in the day. Fresh I bet this is awesome.

Pours clear, gold in color with one inch head. Taste is grass, lemon, and whole wheat bread. Medium light bodied, medium-high carbonation, slightly sweet. Makes for a good summer sipper. Could have several. Not as good as some of the German pilsners I had abroad though.

From the back label: "Best before: 04.07.17 11:34"

Appearance: The body is a light straw color with a cloudy appearance. The head is a very thick, billowy, white, fluffy cloud. Great retention and lacing.

Aroma: It has a nice light spicy hop aroma. There is a light touch of butter.

Taste: It has a peanut shell flavor up front which is a bit interesting but not entirely wanted.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied and easy to drink. Not quite dry.

Overall: Between the bit of butter in the aroma and the peanut shell flavor the beer is odd enough that I wouldn't recommend it or drink it again as an import but I would try it in Germany.
