Aroma is mildly sweet malts and earth. The flavor is medium sweet malts, corn, light fruit and a mix of smooth and very light citrus in the finish.

i continue to trumpet the fact that there arent enough craft cream ales in the world, and its nice to see a little resurgence from some of these midwestern breweries. this is a good one, and my first brew from galena brewing. its clear golden in color, extremely pale, and fizzy like a soda pop, but the head doesnt really last. a nice straw grain summery freshness to the nose. im taken to a long hot walk with a heavy load on a dusty dirt road, blistering in the sun, with a light breeze blowing through the grain fields on either side of me, beautiful, but not enough to keep me cool. im sweating and burning and tired and dirty, and i get wherever i have to get, and this is the beer i need, the beer i crave, and the beer that can refresh and revive me like few others. its simple enough in taste, just a pale grain base and a tickle of sweetness and saison type funk in the finish, and effervescent carbonation on a light bodied ice cold ale that serves its purpose and then some. perhaps its a little underflavored, but in hot weather, i dont need to be challenged, i need to be refreshed, and this is the ticket for that. lets keep these cream ales coming shall we?!

Beer poured from bottle into a Lagunitas branded pint glass

A - Beer pours from bottle with pebble shaped bubbly white head; about 1 finger in size; head barely holds; body has a yellow-straw color and looks very well carbonated; little to no lacing sticks to the glass

S - Beer has a great straw and grainy malt smell to it; wheat, spice and very similar Hefeweizen-esqe scents; floral; touch of chamomile herbal nose, fruity citrus

T - Frothy cream wheat taste; sweet; straw; corn; touch of citrus, orange taste at the end

M - Medium and well-carbonated body; slightly chewy; absolutely no lingering bitterness or hop aftertaste; dry

D - Honestly, this is a great beer; you might be wondering why the score is a little lower in other categories and why I gave it such a high overall rating...well, I just really like this beer, I remember the first time I had it, I was with family visiting Galena, IL for a wedding, and it just went well with the good time I was having, so I guess what I'm trying to say is, have this beer and enjoy the people your with

Farmer’s Cream Ale is a wheat ale with a mild, slightly sweet taste. It pours a pale golden yellow with a light, creamy head. The aroma is of mild sweetness and distinct hop presence though this is not a hophead beer.

Very clean and smooth taste with a crisp hop finish; bright citrus notes, but well balanced with very minimal bitterness. Especially good as a light and refreshing summer beer as well as a good intro beer for someone new to the craft beer scene.

Great beer with salads, lighter poultry or seafood dishes.

Available year-round on draft, in bottles and in kegs.

Fresh on tap today at the brewery.
Review from written notes, scoring to style.

Bright straw gold, copious lacing that forms drippy concentric rings in the glass. Trails of carbonation visible. The white foam has a soft creamy texture, and it sticks around for awhile, eventually fading to a broken skim.

Clean and simple smell... two row malt, slightly crisp apple yeastiness, hint of flaked corn in the aroma only. Feels crisp with a little bit of apple, crackers, and mild sweetness. Finishes dry, a little bland. Overall clean with no flaws, a summer session beer or conversion beer for macro drinkers.
