Had this one at the source on a past ticking trip to Asheville! Served from tap into a sampler shaker. Poured red-orange with a half finger off-white head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, orange, citrus, orange peel, earth, and earth hop. The flavor was of sweet malt, earth, earth hop, fruit, fruit hop, citrus, and orange rine. It had a light feel on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall this was a pretty decent brew. Everything on this one was pretty good with the exception of the earthy notes that were present. The just seemed out of place on the taste and actually dominated some of the fruit and citrus aspects that were going on in it. If this would not have been the case this definitely could have been quite a good DIPA. Worth your time stopping by to try this one though if you are looking for a nice DIPA while in Asheville. Tick.
