Undrinkable. Smells awful. Tastes a little better than awful. It's over-carbonated, curiously funky, and sodaish. Very difficult to finish. In fact, I didn't drink more than 5 ounces.

Brilliant gold in color with a light haziness. there's a fingernail of dishwater white on top. I smell plenty of sea salt and nothing else, typical to style. I'm tasting plenty of sea salt and light malt. The mouth is moderately carbonated and dense from the heavy salting. It's odd to know this was lagered because I don't feel this is any more drinkable than a typical gose. Upon further review it seems a bit more watered down.

Bottle poured into a Sudwerk Brewing pint glass

A: Pours effervescent golden straw with a frothy white head that dissipates quickly.

S: Citrus, orange and mild lemony tartness, a hint of light fruit, and a little wheat.

T: Mild lemony lactic tartness, orange, a little wheat, faint herbal note, a touch of light sweetness, and a hint of salt.

M: Light to medium body, lively carbonation.

O: Interesting take on a gose. Not the best I've ever had, but after working up a sweat on a hot muggy day this hit the spot.

Golden and clear, with a tall white head. The aroma is fruity, with some dough and fresh hops. The taste has the familiar Gose salt-dryness and a touch of bitterness, along with fruit. More fresh baked dough flavors, mixed with fruit. Medium-light in body. NIce.

The name raises suspicions, so let's see how this goes...

Pours an effervescent honey color with 2 fingers of pearl colored head. No head retention & minimal lacing

S: Faint grassiness & a little dried grain

T: Lime, lemon & faint saltyness & tartness up front. Lime & grassiness/tartness as this warms, a little dryness & saltyness. Finishes a little tart with slight saltiness & nice citrus notes

MF: Medium body with slight carbonation

A nice gentle intro the style or version close to it. Don't name an ale a lager, makes think people are not serious, drinks easy enough...

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass, no bottle date

A- pours a slightly hazy golden orange color with a small creamy white head that reduces to a thin film floating on top and sticks around for a while

S- crisp toasted wheat and crackery malt, light citrus & some salty coriander

T- mild tart citrus flavors up front, followed by some toasted malt and crisp wheat, salt finish with a low amount of acidity

M- medium heavy body with moderate biting carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel and a crisp finish

O- pretty refreshing, would prefer a bit more tartness and less salt

On tap at Sweeney's Ale House in Encino, CA.

Pours a clear honey orange with a foamy beige head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is slightly sour with grain, citrus fruit, and citrus juice aromas. Taste is much the same with slightly sour citrus fruit, citrus juice, and salt flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with nice slightly sour citrus qualities, but the salt level is a bit too much to me.

Serving type: on tap.
