16oz draft pour at People's taproom served cold in a shaker pint. 5.5% ABV 23 IBU per menu. The beer pours dark amber with mahogany highlights and khaki head. The head recedes to a pencil thin ring. The aroma is faint with smoked and toasted malt. The taste is toasted malt first with a whisper of beechwood smoke. Minimal bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium to thin bodied with average carbonation and a dry finish. Overall, good. Absolutely no flaws here, which is rare in the Indiana lagers I've sampled. Not super complex and the smoke is restrained, but a very nice beer.

More of a dark brown than black, and while only subtly smoky, was almost too much.
