22 oz. bottle into a tulip glass
A - Beer pours a light foamy head from a moderate pour which dissipates very quickly to absolutely no head at all. Very light carbonation is visible with tiny bubbles rising lazily towards the surface. Ruby red/garnet in color, leaning towards the ruby. 3.5/5
S - Dark stone fruit and dark sweet cherries come out initially. Following these aromas I also get rape (almost a Concord Grape Wine aroma), musty hay, and sorghum. Hops seem to be herbal in nature. Very sweet overall aroma with musty backing. 4.25/5
T - Dry, tart cherries present initially with a quick transition to a sorghum sweetness and rye bread. Peppery spiciness throughout the flavor profile. Leathery and musty on the finish with a boozy undertone. Herbal bitterness comes out but the bitterness is overcome by the mustiness and earthy notes. 3.75/5
M - Very dry throughout the profile. Medium bodied leaning towards a light feel at times. Light carbonation tickle which allows a smoothness to come through. Leaves the mouth fairly dry upon swallowing. 4/5
O - As with the 2014 Ardelle, the sweetness of the aroma is not achieved in the flavor. Musty and earthy overall, with almost a nuttiness to the flavor. Based on the aroma I was expecting a real wow factor of fruity sweetness but that did not transpire. 3.5/5
