Went to get the Coccinati Red Wheat but they were tapped out so I went with this stout instead.
A - Dark brown color, basically black but you could tell it was more brown than ink black. Rocky brown head with nice lacing. Looks like an American stout should.
S - Very good stout aroma with the traditional malt and then the chocolate followed by roasted malt and then some coffee. Not kidding when they say chocolate stout but does smell more like a robust stout than a Young's or other "chocolate" beers.
T - Very similar to the smell this beer is full of malty goodness that coats the palate with the chocolate and roasted characters that I was expecting. The flavor is strong with sweetness but is balanced with the coffee/roasted/burnt character that can hint on your palate after you swallow. Some bitterness from hops and roasted malt to round out the sweet milk chocolate character but not overpowering.
.
M - Moderate to light mouth-feel, definitely not an Imperial Stout. Light carbonation that could be dampening the flavors slightly. The body is more indicative of the 6% ABV than the flavors but it is still lighter than I would like or expected.
Overall, this is a very good standard stout. I really enjoy the softer, sweet chocolate tones that compliment this beer without being cloying or unbalanced. I would still prefer an imperial stout over this but it is a great beer and the best part is you have no qualms drinking more than a few and enjoying it longer since it is not >10% ABV. If you like that milk chocolate flavor this is a great beer to try but don't be surprised if the body isn't what you wanted.

I had this last year in October and a week ago. Served in a pint glass at People's.
Appearance: Heavy doses of chocolate malt in this dark stout, hence the name. It is straight up black with a tan/mocha head which didn't last long.
Smell: The nose is roasted malt and slight cocoa powder.
Taste: Taste is roasted cocoa and very malt heavy, obvious due to the chocolate malt.
Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel needs to be bigger, it has the flavor but drinks too lightly. This would probably be better on nitro.
Good offering, thankfully People's is finished with their expansion and are rolling out darker beers for the colder months. Hope they bring back Captain Blackstrap, their Russian Imperial Stout.

Wow, this is an awesome chocolate stout! Had it on tap at Twenty Tap in Indy. Poured a wonderfully dark brown with good head and a bit of decent lacing. Very nice scent with good roasted grains underneath, a slight earthiness end, and a wonderful chocolate aroma throughout, with the scents merging quite nicely. Wonderful flavors with great roasted grains, the tiniest of coffee flavors, a wonderful earthy/floral bitter ending and with fantastic chocolate flavors throughout the entire drink; the chocolate merges with everything without battling anything. It went down creamy, thick, smooth, and wonderful. Nicely done!

Had this on tap a few times at People's Brewing Company before interviewing it officially =)
The appearance is dark chocolate brown with a frothy pale tan head. Scent is a heady bittersweet chocolate, with a little extra 'bitter'sweet attitude. Love the scent of this!
Dark chocolate bittersweet rich-bodied taste awaits, with a slight caramel on finish. As this warms, I taste toasted marshmellow. I don't know why, probably some scent/taste memory of S'mores from when I was a kid, but there you go! Marshmellow/caramel on finish! =)
A very lovely chocolate stout - and go ahead and toast up some S'mores to have it with this fall! You deserve it!
