I purchased this one from Purvis Beer in Melbourne in December 2023 and drank it in April 2024.
L: A thick, foamy, mocha-coloured head tops the solid blackness in the glass, with small bubbles visible at the edges.
S: This one has a subtle aroma of roasted malt, cola, toffee, and brown sugar, with no aspect overpowering the others.
T: The beer has a rich toffee malt flavour with a subtle bitterness that blends harmoniously with sweet vanilla notes, resulting in a long and satisfying finish.
M: The can is festooned with the words "smooth and malty", and this one is certainly smooth in texture. Carbonation is very mild, and the prickle is barely noticeable, appearing only after swallowing.
O: This is a solid stout, but that's its "problem." It's solid, well made, and a nice drink, but lacking big adjuncts or barrel-aged oomph means this one will always struggle to stand out, which, honestly, is the definition of a first-world problem!
(Since we're quoting batch numbers in these reviews, this one is #827)
Cheers!

375ml can, with the batch No 499, best before 22/01/2021. Poured into a pint glass.
Review Consistent with review by smabeano on July 3rd 2019
The only difference was when poured into a straight cold glass, the tinged head stayed for a bit longer.
Mind you I poured it really strong, tipping the 300ml can upside down into a pint glass
I'm buying this regularly as a good stout option in my local liquor store.

375ml can, with the batch No 438, best before 20/05/2020. Poured into a tulip.
Look: Pours a dark black with just under 1cm of coffee tinged head, which quickly subsides to a thin film.
Smell: Bit of molasses and licorice, roastiness, coffee, chocolate.
Taste: little sweetness, coffee, licorice, I'm getting a touch of smokiness, maybe something a bit green in here too.
Feel: Not bad at all, mid bodied, light touch of prickly carbonation, a little dry to finish and a good length.
