Liberators beer menu suggests, though never states outright, that this peculiar dark beer is brewed with cherries in something of a kriek lambic style. It has a strangely phenolic fragrance and a peculiar taste profile that is too charismatic to ignore and too challenging to appreciate. It is russet brown with no lace and scant head.
Dunkel Trout is a beer with an identity crisis Im not prepared to decipher. It doesnt sit well in any established style category and would seem to open doors on taste profiles Id prefer not to step through. The taste hints at cherry cola but is ultimately convoluted. I simply cant appreciate it.
