On tap at Winter Warmer: Poured a hazy dark color ale with a medium size foamy head. Aroma of spices and residual sugar with light sweet cherry notes. Taste is also a mix between some spices with quite a sweet malt backbone and light subtle cherry notes. Body is full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Taste like the base beer (Jerry) with some light cherries added to the mix. This is OK but I wouldn’t go out of my way to taste this again in the future.

First had: bottle won in a raffle at Monk's, Philly, PA
Shared at a Dec. '12 Philly suburbs bottle share.

This was a special "brewer's reserve" bottle, with no label, but with writing in gold marker on the bottle and signed by the brewer at Unibroue. "Not available on the market!" the bottle says. This was a '10 vintage, and I also have a '12.

Dark ruby-brown pour, clear but solid brown, capped with a small, dense tan head that retained well and left some nice lacing on the glass. Nose was heavy with molasses, decadent and sugary, notes of sweet malts, caramel, dark dried fruits. The taste on this beer was amazing...like an oatmeal raisin cookie made with molassses, secondary flavors of cinnamon and nutmeg. Fortunately someone at the tasting had made oatmeal raisin cookies, and the pairing with this beer was absolutely tremendous. I'm pretty sure 2 years of cellaring brought this beer to its peak (FYI to anyone else who might have this). Medium-full body, lots of flavor...possibly the best Unibroue beer I've had. Too bad there's only one more bottle of it (in my cellar that is), and it won't be ready to drink for a while.

No indication of style or ABV. I'd guess the ABV at around 7-9%. As for the style, it was just an educated guess that this was a BSDA based on the characteristics of the beer, and Unibroue's general m.o.
