I believe this is the Lagunitas also known as Trippa Sabotage, and yes, a couple of very good people from MD had a hand in creating this.

There may be better beers elsewhere in the universe--I've never had a Heddy Topper, for example--so I'll save my 5s for that one. I had a few pints of Green Flash last Friday, and was pleasantly surprised at how close this brew is. Were it not for the initial fruitiness on my tongue, I doubt I would have known the difference when I drank this last night.

I doubt this will be around for long, especially on the East Coast. Quaff a glass or two if you get the chance!!!

32oz growler from Barrel and Barley (Woodstock, GA). 6.99. Served in a Southern Tier tulip snifter.

Pours hazy golden amber with two fingers of fluffy white head. The froth is long lasting and leaves tons of lace.

Smells of oranges, mangos, a liitle pine and butterscotch.

This has got to be the fruitiest IPA that I've ever tasted. Mandarin, grapefruit, mango, papaya, melon, pine, butterscoch, caramel and a hint of strawberry. Delicious. A great bitter punch but kept in a balance with the citrus and sweet malts. Very little perceived alcohol. Outstanding.

Oily, slick medium full bodied with fairly heavy but not over powering carbonation. Delicious fruity citrus and pine finish with a nice bitterness and smooth sweetness. Dangerously easy to drink for it's double-digit alcohol content.

Sucks might get the excitement but this is better in every way. A truly outstanding DIPA. Right up my alley with it's deft juggling of fruit, citrus, bitterness and butterscotch malt sweetness. Super happy to have chosen so wisely at the growler shop. Highly recommended.

This beer is a monster. Lots of hops and word is some guys from Maryland sabatoged it!! While high in abv and ibu it is drinkable, just be prepared they will catch up with you! There is a good malty backbone to this beer that helps keep it mellow and drinkable while dry docking....

Unbelievable. Smooth citrusy and quite warming for an IPA. 3 sips and you're in love. Try one before its gone!!! There are a lot of beers that don't live up to their billing. This one sure does hence the very high and deserving rating. Truly wish this was a year around brew or even a super seasonal. Perfect for July!!!
