Had on tap at their beer garden in Petaluma
L: Pours a beautiful inky black, generous white head with beautiful lacing on the glass.
S: Coffee and roasted malts from the stout with booze/whisky. Just from the nose you know that you're in for a real treat.
T/F: This is one great tasting beer. Very rich, with mild coffee and toasted malts at the front giving way to the whiskey and oak at the finish. The alcoholic warmth is there. Very smooth, with only mild carbonation.
O: This is one delicious beer, available brewery only. I love their regular Cappuccino Stout and throwing it in a whiskey barrel was a fantastic idea. Lots of complex flavors going on. Boozy and warm, and everything that is awesome about whiskey-aging a beer.

On tap at The Collective
Appearance: Poured into a 7 oz glass. Color is dark mahogany - translucent, not opaque. Kind of surprised that it isn't as dark as I expected. Thin bar head and semi-sticky lacing.
Aroma: Dark fruit, booze, some anise and coffee
Taste: Strong dark fruit with booze and a bit of coffee. Some vanilla and cocoa.
Mouthfeel: Medium/full body, creamy and smooth
Overall: A little lighter than expected with only a bit of coffee. I think I prefer the original to the BA, but it's a very good beer nonetheless.
