one of the greatest and most unsung lagunitas beers of all time, a true masterpiece that should have gotten more attention, way out of left field for this brewery, but absolutely wonderful. a hoppy belgian pale meets a saison in terms of style, old world belgian yeast, lots of hops, fresh peppy nelson hops to be exact, and its brewed with muscat and sauvignon blanc grapes, not something i would have ever expected from these guys, but i absolutely loved it. blonde and relaxed looking, neither clear nor cloudy, with a frothy inch of white head and lots of bubbles rising to replenish it. the grapes are obvious on the nose, this is vinous for sure, drier than expected and with major kiwi fruit, key lime, and honeydew from the hops, very tropical and southern hemisphere, some bitterness and tannic character too, which i think lends authenticity, and its quite obviously the best parts of west coast hoppiness and belgian high temperature ale fermentation, love all thats in play with this. the flavor has white floral, elderflower type character, juiciness from the grapes, sauvignon blanc specifically is identifiable, and the yeast brings white pepper, rock candy, and coriander freshness to this, very distinctive ferment, especially for lagunitas. the hops and the grapes together are amazing, the grain is out of the way but gives this a soft wheaty medium body, and there is a crispness on the back end unexpected in a beer thats also estery. rushing carbonation, super unique layers of flavor, sneaky strong for being something i want to pound 20 of, maybe the greatest lagunitas beer ever made. i pray they bring this back someday, but the odds feel awfully long on that...

On tap at Bardenay. Pale golden pour, misty, yeasty aroma. Buttery, savory flavor follows, mildly spicy. A pretty decent Belgian ale, and kind of mild for a "strong" ale.

Complex flavor. Slightly sour and wonderful finish and the flavor lingers for quite a while. Nice blond color and slight cloudiness but I favor beers by taste more than nose or or looks.

Brewed with Muscat & Sauvignon Blanc grapes, fermented with a De Dolle Belgian yeast strain, then dry-hopped with some freaking delicious Nelson Sauvin hops, making it a Superbly Specatacular Sauvignon Sauvin Saisonesque Summer Sipper.
