SPPPCPSPS – Sumac, Pink Peppercorn, Pequin Chile, Purple Sweet Potato Sour. All that stuff gives the beer a pink and purple kind of hue instead of the normal yellow. Aroma does have a thick brett combining with the sourness of the regular Aunt Sally and pepper notes.
Taste kicks down a little bit of that peppercorn along with its average sourness. Alcohol decently hidden. Has a dry finish, which I really did not see coming given all the possibly, seemingly extraneous stuff they threw in. Usually once you get to this amount of non traditional ingredients/adjuncts, the beer becomes a shit show, but this is actually drinkable. In fact, I went back for seconds. It was somewhere around the 2nd best beer of the day. What it did well was provide a bretted, chalky, sticky substance feeling beyond the base version of the beer.
