08/11/07- Had on tap at the Toronado during their 20th Anniversary party.
Presentation- Via the tap into a standard pint glass.
Appearance- Caramel reddish brown colored pour. Smaller 1/4 inch head, although creamy looking. Light lace streaks left behind.
Smell- Deep caramel malt with a grapefruit and pine hop nose.
Taste- Remeniscent of their Imperial Red and their Mondo Red release. Very well balanced...deep roasted sweet caramel notes as well as fruity grapefruit laden hops. Probably a bit more hops that malt though.
Mouthfeel- Slightly creamy with a medium, possibly a bit lower than average carbonation level. Fairly deep bitter aftertaste.
Drinkability- This one was one of my top three favorites I had that night out of 8 different brews. Great brew for the birthday of a great beer bar.
