Wow, I could have swore I already wrote the review for this beer. Hmmm. Anyways, pours a darker golden color, revealing a degree more bready malt than their usual slew of hoppy ales have. Solid 1/2" white head on top. Aroma was bready, even had the slightest amount of lightly toasted pit/almond like note to it. That went better than expected.
Taste was a slightly stronger pale bock, all the parameters of style met, bready malt body, good carbonation in the mouth feel, slight nutty approach to it, bitterness and alcohol a little bigger than average but not problematic. It wasn't my favorite style or anything, but I did enjoy splitting a few of them with people. The rest of the 6 pack went to girls who don't like bitter or sour beers. It definitely has its place in this world and I could see it cutting into Rogue's Dead Guy Ale market share, because its essentially a better beer at a better price.

Clear dark shade of golden brew with abundant foam in the Ommegang chalice. Described as a Pale Bock beer. Pleasantly sudsy, tangy with a hint of honey. somehow it tastes a bit hot, like with alcohol. Sweet green melon and lemon-lime soda.
Moderately sweet with the usual sweet tangy weirdness of Bock beers. But less weird than the usual stuff from Lagunitas. From the 12 oz bottle purchased at Trader Joes. I would taste-test it with TJ’s brand of Pale Bock.
