22 ounce bottle, lets hope for the best with this old bottle. Pours cloudy orange amber color with a fairly dense 2 finger off white head with great retention that reduces to a fairly thick lacing cap. Some lacing sticks to the glass as you drink as well. Aromas of caramel, bread, pine, grapefruit, orange zest, and a bit of spiciness. Interesting IPA aromas, but nice stuff. Taste of big grapefruit, caramel, pine, orange zest, and a bit of breadiness. Big sweetness in the front followed by a decent amount of bitterness on the finish that lingers with pine and citrus flavors. A bit more malt forward on this one as expected from the age of the bottle. Medium carbonation and body; with nice smooth drinkability that goes down easily. No alcohol in the taste or finish. Overall a very nice IPA from Lagunitas, even if it was old.

interesting beer i have to say. pours out a reddish amber with hints of golden color around the sides, not at all what i thought was going to come out here. nice head of off white lacing clings to the sides for the entire sessiom

nice light hops and well balanced malt aroma, lots of depth and balance here. piney hops, are quick hitting but fleating as they fade off and you are left with a nice mid palate flavor that is bready grains and soft buttery notes. dry finish leads to a simply wonderfully light profile that makes you come back for more.

overall an odd one, but it seems to work.

22 oz into a snifter...big red beer...is this an IPA? I guess it's hoppy enough to be one, but is more like a hoppy amber ale. Pretty solid though, I do like it. Probably won't buy too often, big reds aren't my favorite style but I'd recommend trying it once or twice. Good value too, chug was under $4.

This is still on the shelves in Dallas, but I am not sure how old it is. Since Lagunitas doesn't date their bottles with a bottling date or a best by date (at least this one is not dated), I am going to assume they don't care if people drink old IPAs from them and rate accordingly.

The beer pours a hazy tannish-orange color with a white head. The aroma is caramel malt, with a lot of sugar and orange marmalade notes. I also get some biscuit malt.

The flavor is very sweet and boozy. I get some orange and caramel, but also some brown sugar and a little bit of pine from the hops. Low bitterness, and a lot more alcohol than I expected for a beer that is just more than 6 percent.

Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Reviewed from notes.

Pours a nice golden color with a white head. The nose is nice with a good bit of orange, grapefruit, and a hint of pine. The taste is nicely hoppy with a good amount of citrus. Good, nice amount of bitterness and a fairly-light body. Drinkability is pretty good, but this one didn't really keep me coming back for more.

Bomber poured into Nonic pint glass
Dull Hazy orange color, white head quickly dissipated. Aroma had grapefruit and spicy hops. Taste was citrus and piney hops, malt is bready. Being from the South, I enjoy a west coast IPA. Mouthfeel was medium and drinkability was great. Could def drink another a bomber...great beer.

This was a very inexpensive 22oz beer compared to some other lavish IPA makers.

Found the overall taste to be quite refreshing and similar to other IPA's on the market, fruity and hoppy. This is a single IPA style beer, not to be mistaken as a double or triple, as stated on the label.

It had a nice off white head, but it slowly dissipated, as did the carbonation.

The drink-ability was what surprised me, I found myself want another.

Golden amber, with some nice white head, that appears in no hurry to leave. Nice hop spiciness on the nose, along with a background note of sweet malt. A little bit of sweetness on the palate, but mostly the slightly citric, slightly peppery hops. Somewhat thin, but decent. Not the best beer Lagunitas has ever released, but not too bad.

2009 Correction Ale pours from the bomber a slightly cloudy dull yellow. a massive head settles into a thin froth, and eventually a permanent film that leaves some modest lacing behind.

smells ripe with grapefruit-dominant citrus and piney hoppiness.
taste is much of the same. the grapefruit is strong, hops are also piney and slightly resinous. bitterness is harsh. malt is bready, and a little toasty but otherwise not very strong. there is a sweetness here as well, but it is easily offset by the bitterness.

mouthfull dry, highly carbonated, leaves a lingering bitter citrus aftertaste.

+i love the bitterness level, especially matched with the grapefruit profile. this is a great beer. this was my second bomber of Correction in a week, and my third from Lagunitas. aside from Hop Stoopid, my Lagunitas experiences have been very positive (and cheap!). i only wish they sold it in 6 packs

A pleasant drinkable IPA with a good bitterness and above-average IBU. Pours grapefruit body with a decent white head. Citrus hop aromas. Above average mouthfeel. The C-hop imparts some citrus taste. This is a good thirst quencher though did not go with my fish.

Appearance - hazy strawberry blonde. A solid finger of thick chunky foam, very sticky, basic off-white color.

Aroma - lots of pink grapefruit and some light sweet citrus on the side like mango or pineapple.

Taste - brief underpinning of cracker and biscuit. Snappy, grapefruity hops follow, rather bitter and almost medicinal, stopping just short. Not the freshest sample and I may prefer that if it tones down the intensity a notch. Dry hoppiness on the swallow, about the same flavor profile but with a light resiny edge to it.

Mouthfeel - crisp, average body with a bit of smoothness. Very refreshing.

Drinkability - a supremely sessionable brew, not the worst value at $5 a bomber. I could imagine this being outstanding on cask.

Sampled from a 22oz bottle in a standard pint glass.

A nice golden color with some haze and lots of thick lacing. The aroma is loaded with tropical fruit and a touch of toasted malt. The flavor follows with lots or tropical fruit and citrusy notes. It's got a mild bitterness and is quite smooth. The consistency is moderate and a bit slick and the carbonation is nice and low.

This is one of the tamer west coast IPAs but it's a very easy drinking beer that still has lots of flavor.

I love IPAs and after the long (still here) winter I'm ready for a few hoppy beers.

This one poured in a 16oz pint glass was mostly yellow in color with a slightly off white head, about a finger. Sticky lacing collected on the sides of the glass as I drank.

The nose was a lot of citrus, clear and watery. Taste was mostly pine sap and citrus.

The mouth was light good carbonation, hoppy bite at the end which is just what the doctor ordered.

Drinkability is very good for a piney IPA.

Clear amber body with two fingers of off-white foam, showing modest retention and a little lacing; nice looking overall, though. Big nose, very nice--a piney-funk combination, maybe Cascade and Simcoe, lots of citrus (grapefruit, orange peel, a hint of lemon) and maybe some apple.

Good taste, very hop-slanted and flavorfully citrusy. But it's a little thin in taste and mouthfeel. It feels like it lacks some malt for backbone and balance, for I get just a bit of caramel. I don't need IPAs to be fully balanced by any means, but this would be improved a bit with another helping of malt, to me.

Still, a very enjoyable, well-hopped IPA. I prefer Hop Stoopid, but this certainly fit the bill. Another job well done from Lagunitas, and the $4.29 was a steal for the bomber.

22 oz. bottle tried 21 Jun 2009.

Poured in a Pete's Wicked shaker pint. Large cream colored fizzy head. Moderate carbonation. Crystal clear light honey color. Aroma is full of citrus and floral notes, very fragrant and sweet. Fills the mouth with lots of resin and citrus. Great balance of malt sweetness and hoppy citrus. Grassy bitter finish, velvety. Medium light body. Moderate ethanol.

Nicely balanced IPA that is highly drinkable.

Poured from a big beer into a huge frozen crystal stein.

A: Looks like a beer commercial- hazy orange yellow with a large frothy white head.

S: Citrus hops character with notes of pine, vanilla, sweet white grapes and caramel.

T: Nice and hoppy but not overly sharp. Caramel sweetness underneath a grapefruit/hop taste. Goes down smooth with a soft, tangy mouthfeel. Finishes clean with a touch of bitter.

D: I could easily plow through a couple of these in an evening.

Value: I paid a whopping $2.99 for this guy and I feel like I committed a crime there.

Pours a hazy, copper color. 2/3 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and good lacing. Smells of strong hops, sweet malt, and citrus. Fits the style of an American IPA. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp with an average carbonation level. There is a noticeable bitterness. Tastes of hops, citrus (tangerine), sweet malt, and slight yeast. Overall, mellows as you go, and the bitterness fades.

Burnt orange color with a very fluffy off white head that leaves lots of lacing on the sides of a nonic.

Huge mandarin orange smell with a sweet candy like scent as well. Very citrusy, juicy and sweet smelling. Seems to have that signature Lagunitas hop smell.

Very bitter pine with a citrus peel presence. Quite a bit of bitter orange comes in towards the end. Solid backing of sweeter malt is also here. Pretty balanced IPA, but has lots of bitterness to satisfy hopheads.

Smooth and lightly creamy on the palate. A bit of sharp carbonation with a dry finish.

Is this a DIPA? No, but it's a very hoppy version of an IPA. Another solid hop bomb from Lagunitas that weighs in at a lower ABV than several of their other ones. Very solid beer.

Another damn good offering from Lagunitas. Pours orange, craggy head. Aroma, hop blast, that becomes subdued in comparison once you taste it. Hallmarks of Lagunitas, citrus and pine hop feel, deliciouso! A little to the hop side balance wise, but nothing I don't prefer, or to put it completely out of whack.

Mouthfeel, a little less bitter, probably from the palate adjusting. Very drinkable, and affordable. Highly recommend. Its a Lagunitas IPA, you know its gonna be worth it.

S- Flowers with pine and some oranges

T- Very strong orange flavor as well as a floral taste and some cloves

M- Smooth and kind of greasy really...I don't know how else to explain it...it's thin but good

D- Very easy to have a couple of these...decent taste and texture

22 ounce bottle into a 20 ounce nonic.

A Nice deep golden color with a nice finger white head. Slight haze.

S a nice aroma bringing some fruitiness with a caramel note.

T very nice IPA where the malt leads with the sweetness then let's the citrusy american hops in. That's all backdropped by a nice hop botterness that finishes well. A tealike flavor is found on the finish in the balance between sweet malts and american hops.

M this feels pretty full. Coats the mouth nicely and the medium carbonation wprks for thw flavors present

D nice. Its smooth and not too prickly with carbonation. Has the taste of a strong ale with all the sweet malt but keeps the abv in check and also brings the american ipa hop character. Nice brew

22 oz. bottle from John's Marketplace PDX poured into Delirium Tremens tulip 1/11/2009.

1 finger white head, fairly quick dissipation, minimal lacing. Clear Pale Amber body, a stream of visible carbonation rising from bottom of glass. Big hop hit in the nose, grapefruit, pine, with bready malt dryness on the back end. The taste is pretty sweet for the style, close to Hop Stoopid, chunky grapefruit upfront, melon, pear, and a noble bitter finish, crystal malt sweetness. Mouthfeel is a bit sticky but fairly astringent, nice carbonation. Pretty drinkable. I continue to be impressed by Lagunitas ability to 'spin' new versions of the IPA style. While I prefer Maximus, this is a pretty nice one-off IPA.

S- Very floral and hoppy, somewhat citrusy.

T- Very grapefruit like, the hops are overwhelming, the malt is very subdued.

M- Medium body, the beer envelopes the mouth well.

D- A drinkable beer for all the hops, more balanced than some other Lagunitas beers.

I like Lagunitas beers, but sometimes, like this beer, they favor the grapefruit characteristics in their hoppy brews. Think I'd like this more if it wasn't for that. Poured a nice sized white head and lots of lace. Color is a slightly hazy medium amber. Aroma is malty, spicy, grapefruit hoppy. Flavor's about the same. Very good body and carbonation. Finish is long on the grapefruit.
