rad mix of hops in this very modern ipa, intense and juicy and fruity and fantastic, nice to have a couple of new ones from these guys after some years of stagnation, at least away from the brewery, but still a premier ipa maker when they set themselves to it, and this is really good. clearish and golden, with a short white head, lots of big bubbles, and an intoxicating aroma that fills even a big room, pungent and interesting at the same time, almost smells imperial due to the hop load, not alcohol. white peach, shredded coconut, pink grapefruit, key lime, and maybe like a tangerine jelly bean, distinctive and up front, warming to ripe cantaloupe and navel orange, a little weedy intensity too, max freshness, sabro seems to be the lead hop but there are many in play. the flavor is as lit as the nose, to me now some melon rind specifically, lime leaf, meyer lemon, nectarine, and even trace french vanilla or something, its got a certain sex appeal to it and isnt just a bruiser, in fact, its very drinkable with lower bitterness, alcohol, and even body, its mild texturally really, it just has a ton of hop character all through it, really distinctive and contemporary. high oil content to this, dead center climax, green apple and plantain for a second as it sits, pineapple juice, just delicious. this is one they should consider packaging, with all the changes and reductions around here this might immediately be their best commercially available beer if they did that...
