Had this on-tap at the Vienna Whole Foods.
A: Poured a dark, nearly black color (or lack of) with a whispy, 1/3 finger head that was only a couple shades lighter than the liquid below it.
S: More char than hops, however, I did get a whiff of Lagunitas hop profile.
T: Almost as if someone mixed "Lagunitas Sucks" with Guiness Draught. This simply didn't work. Ridiculously bitter, but not in a pleasant way.
M: The carbonation was fine and the lacing was substantial. Still... bitter, bitter, BITTER!
O: Admittedly, the Black IPA is a tough sell for me. However, I've had some great ones here lately, but this is DEFINITELY not one of them.

A: Deep mahogany brown. Light head. Opaque. Good lacing.
S: Blank. Hoppy? Boring.
T: Fruity-good-plain. Thick, carbonated, and light. Thin finish, lightly hopped, moderately bitter.
M: Carbonated. Hopped. Decent.
O: I don't particularly recommend it. I won't have again. An interesting beer, but a poor Black IPA.
