At Samuel Horns drinking the last keg of this bad boy.
A - pours a bright cloudy orange. There is little head, and no lacing.
S - wow, the funk takes control here. It smells funky and hits with a lemony burst of amazing.
T - Jesus, the lemon peel taste wraps itself around your tongue, and doesn't let go. It continues to linger as a fresh burst of funk decides to enter the battle. The sourness is very noticeable, and compliments the beer greatly. So damn good.
M - very thin, very little bubbles present. I like my wilds with a stronger mouthfeel presence.
D - out of this world. It's addicting. The lemon peel funky sourness keeps you coming back.
O - one of the greatest beers I have had.

Tap, City Beer Store. Wow. One of the best and sourest beers that I've had. I hope the Odonata folks make more (and maybe bottle some). Lemons are the theme of this review.
A: Pours a very cloudy lemon yellow. Little head. Whitish clouds swirl through the glass, mysteriously.
S: Sour lemons, sour apples, sour grapes, light brett, big lacto sour. Probably some oak but sour is center stage.
T: Like taking a bit of a lemon and not a sissy Meyer lemon but a big sour one. Lots of pucker. It's just unflinchingly sour but pretty clean. Very acidic with delicate brett funk. If you like sour sours, this is heaven.
M: I liked it, but again, this is the sort of beer that you feel eating away your tooth enamel and reminds you to schedule a dentist appointment, so your mileage may vary.
D: I probably could have gone for a second glass, but this is not a beer to drink all night long. It does war with your palate and large sips are inadvisable.
Rosa reminded me of the recent Framboise De Amorosa from The Lost Abbey or the incredible RR sours at the recent -tion night at Toronado - sour for days but wonderful and complex. As sour as it is, the flavors work in concert and I savored every sip. This was one of the best beers that I've tried in recent memory and there is certainly a lot of competition from SF Beer Week. I'm eagerly looking forward to Odonata's upcoming saison and whatever they release in the future.
