On tap at Pangaea's. Shocked, but not surprised to see the good name of Odonata spread.

A - Pours a deep brown almost black into the tulip with 2 fingers of capuccino head. Dissipates moderately slow and left nice lacing. Carbonation is low to moderate.

S/T - Hints of chocolate, figs, caramel, raisins, and a slight sourness from the yeast and possibly brett. I later found out mid-quaff that this was aged in Malbec barrels. That seemed more accurate than brett. Light bittering hops finish the taste.

M - Moderate to full-bodied, malt dominated, with a semi-sweet finish. Definitely get some belgian funk and the finish of a sweet red grape barrel.

D - Overall great. Really good job on this beer Peter and Rick. Drank with a couple of newbies to beer and they loved this.

Had this bad boy on tap at sacramento beer weeks history of sac.

A - poured a dark brown. Laced a white head beutifully around the cup.

S - oh my, this beer had so much aroma. Started sour, then hit sweet malted barley. Final hints of some roast.

T - this beer was good. It was sweet like fresh malt, and then the wild yeast from the wine barrel kicked in with the slight sourness. You could taste the accidity from the beer.

M - this beer was acidic, and it was lightly carved. Could haves used a slight more.

D - this damn beer was so good on the first try, I had to settle for another. It was sour, but not overpowering. Sweet, but not too much. It's a good beer. I can't wait for Odonata to begin doing more. Cheers to Peter Hoey and this awesome brew.
