Pale golden color. Medium, quickly disappearing head. The aroma is malty and grainy with a hint of grass. Malty cardboard taste with bitterness in the finish. Average lager.

Copenhagen 17/12 2022. 50 cl can from BulgarskMad, Ã…boulevarden Kbh. N. Classic beer label design with a golden sail ship, huge anchors and a red band with Cyrillic letters.
Pours clear yellow with a big white head. Stable. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam clinging to the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense with a sweet, malty odor mingling with sourish grainy notes. Sweet pale malts, bread and cardboard. Glue and sour grains.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with rather strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish. Lingers for a bit. Finish is sweet corn.
The usual generic International Pale Lager.

Reviewed from notes taken in May 2016.
500ml can from a supermarket in Sofia (Serdika mall). Cost was 1 Lev.
Drinks easy, of course, with a crisp Pilsner malt taste. No metallic off-flavour. No booziness. A blip of shallow grassiness. Rather insipid.
Overcarbonated, of course. Smooth and wet, with a light body.
Simple, shallow, and cheap (especially in terms of its weak malt backbone), but approachable and inoffensive. You can do worse for a 1 Lev brew. Then again, you can also do better...

Tried this while visiting Bulgaria last year. It was my favorite beer that was available in Bourgas!
It's somewhat like a crappy Coors. It's nothing special, but it was better than Zagorka or the other beers that I could find in the Bourgas area...

500ml serving on tap, in tankard, while on holiday in Bulgaria.
A- Dark golden colour pee colour, minimal head, retention and lacing.
S- Very little, musty, skunky hops.
T- Subtle hop bitterness mingling with a sickly sweet maltiness fading out to a sugary finish.
M- Average carbonation and mouthfeel
T- Not very crisp or refreshing, no real interesting flavour profile. Another mass produced lager that is fit for the bin.PASS!
