Formerly Easy Jack Summer Session IPA
Brewmaster Matt Brynildson went to the mountain and returned with a vision for a different kind of Session IPA, one that would be brewed and dry hopped with a globetrotting selection of new hop varieties from Europe, New Zealand and North America. He foresaw a beer that would deliver massive hop aromas, a signature malt balance and an empty glass before you knew what hit you. And so the newest member of our Jack IPA family was born.

On tap at the Pony Bar in Hell's Kitchen.
Appearance: Crystal clear orange tinged yellow. Mild foamy head with decent retention.
Smell: Floral and slightly funky New Zealand hops. Magnitude of the aroma making me feel confident about my choice to order this beer.
Taste: Hop burst up front, bone dry finish. Crisp and clean. Just enough carbonation. Hops have a hint of weed, some pine, and mostly citrus. Slight cereal malt note.
This is the perfect "Session IPA" balance. I would maybe like more malt presence, but this is what you're paying the price of admission for: big burst of well-chosen hops, then a finish crisp enough for any hot outdoor Summer gathering.
Mouthfeel: Could not be improved upon. Light bodied with a slight oily, juicy impression from the hops. Highish carbonation. Bone dry, clean finish.
Overall: This beer should be fresh and on tap in perpetuity. Great stuff. When I heard Firestone Walker was making a "Session IPA," I was cautiously optimistic (Wookey Jack is one of my favorite "dank hoppy beers"). My expectations were exceeded. This is a beer to be enjoyed in large, reasonably sobriety-preserving quantities.

Aroma is floral/fruit hops, grains and a good hint of sweetness. The flavor is fruit/citrus, grains, slight sweetness in the middle and a dry/bitter hop finish.

Canned 12/17/25. See previous reviews of original Easy Jack from 2017-19. This reworked version not nearly as aromatic, grapefruity or flavorful. Still a good session ipa with nice mouthfeel and hoppiness.

Very good ‘lite’ IPA. Enough taste and mouthfeel to separate it from lesser rated low ABV IPAs. Excellent session candidate. Will look for this when in the SW U.S.

Easy Jack has a thick, spongy, white head, a clear, bubbly gold appearance, and heavy lacing. The aroma is of pungent hop oils and white bread. It has a similar flavor, with bitterness and low sweetness. Easy Jack has a light body and a dry finish. It has sort of a hop water presentation.

Copenhagen 13/12 2019. 35,5 cl can from Meny, Gymnasievej, Køge. Yellow can with a lion and a bear about to initiate a boxing match on the can.
Pours unclear, golden yellow with a medium-sized white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense, floral and with a considerable citric intensity. Caramel, toffee. Hints of peach and Papaya. Dry floral presence. Medium strong notes of Grape fruit and citrus.
Medium strong carbonation. Thin, watery, lively texture.
Flavor is quite on the thin side. Light sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is lightly bitter and fairly short. Semi-dry finish.
A bit thin in the flavor but a fine nose and appropriate palate.

355 ml bottle, as Firestone Walker Easy Jack IPA, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.5%. Nearly clear pale golden colour, moderate to small white head. Lovely hoppy aroma of tropical fruits and citrus. The flavour is medium dry with citrussy / grapefruity hops, also hints of tropical fruits, and a fairly bitter finish. Light bodied and refreshing.

12oz can (dated 7/20/20) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a clean, clear, bright, light gold color with about 1/2 inch of white head that had low retention and lacing.
The nose had low malt, and subdued pine and citrus hops.
Similar on the tongue, just a bit brighter.
The body was light, smooth, crisp, and had a dry finish.
Drinkability was good, it would be a nice beer for tubing down the Nooksack in the summer.
Overall, decent enough, for what it's trying to be.

I’m going to abstain from a full review because the beer was not as fresh as a beer of this style ought to be to be fully appreciated but the numbers reflect my feeling towards the beer as it was.
