A: Moderately perfume and flowery upfront with a clean light tartness.
A: Bright pink color, totally clear with a very thin almost non-existent white head.
T: Moderately flowery upfront, with a slight berry-like character. The beer has a clean, light tartness on the finish.
M: Light bodied with moderately light carbonation.
O: Pretty solid; this hibiscus ale has a beautiful color with a light tartness and clean flavor. It drinks a little thin, but all in all quite refreshing – especially on a hot day!

I guess this appeals to the masses, and there is a hint of hibiscus...but essentially pouring myself a glass of pink water. Not bad, just not much going on at all

had no idea what this was so i ordered one, and was shocked to see it come in clear pink like this. looks like a crystal light pink lemonade with half an inch of white head on it. pleasant but strange. the bartender informs me its loaded with hibiscus, pretty cool i suppose. doesnt have that characteristic perfumey smell you get so often from the flowers, which i am pleased with. seems more like an accent in the aroma than a main driver. seems like pilsener and white wheat malt make up the base, very clean and delicate, light, not real hoppy either, at least from the smell. taste is a lot like the nose, with hibiscus not being over the top, but it ends up being the primary flavor almost by default because the grain and the hops are so light in it. hints of lemongrass and lime are there, but they are totally beneath the hibiscus. cant believe how light the grain is though, barely there in flavor or feel, lighter than water in texture, but because its one of the only light hibiscus beers, at least this light, that i have had, i kind of like its delicate nature and soft slurpy feel. really outside the range of what i think about when i think firestone walker, but a cool release nevertheless. should appeal to most crowds. id like to see it with a brett pitch...

On tap at D&T Drive Inn, Houston TX. This is a collaboration of minds, more than anything, between FW and Alamo Draught House for Guillermo del Toro’s movie of the same name...Made with hibiscus flowers.
A: Pours a clear ruby red color. A two finger head forms and recedes in a second. Disappointingly no foam cap or lace is left behind.
S: Fairly unsubstantial in the nose. Soft malts, maybe some hops, flowery, and some nondescript fruity character. Nothing is substantial, and just leaves me wanting more.
T: Pale malts, flowery, fruity, but nondescript in almost every way. I can't put my finger on any one flavor profile, just vague descriptions. Which is not out right bad, just blah.
M/O: A light body with a nice, crisp effervescent bite. Smooth at the same time. Not hard to drink at all, just so nondescript as to make it almost unnoticeable.
A really blah attempt here. Almost like Firestone Walker was not trying in the least. While one of my favorite brewers, and not out right bad, this just misses the mark. Nothing of substance to recommend here.

Yeasty worty aroma with pleasent hibiscus notes. Very sweet and cloudy, it seems under attenuated, might improve in a few weeks.
