Paderewski Pils is riffed on the brewery’s acclaimed Pivo Pils, replacing the beer’s primary Saphir hop with Polish hops called Lubelski and Marynka. Since production is limited, the beer is made in the classic unfiltered “keller” method often enjoyed at European brewpubs.

I like this more than Pivo, whose hop varieties come off just a bit harsh to me. This one really shines on the nose, oodles of fresh, zesty herbs and grass, the epitome of refreshing. On the palate, it's hop forward, a healthy dose of bitterness, highly attenuated. Personally, I could've used a bit more malt character to balance out the prominence of the hops, but others may enjoy this feature. Overall, certainly a well-made pils that ably stands next to the highly decorated Pivo.

A: Pretty hoppy upfront, and slightly perfumy, with a moderately light malt character.

A: Deep golden color, super hazy, with a moderately thick white microbubble head with solid retention. There is some lacing left in the glass.

T: Lots of hops upfront, followed by a soft, clean, complex maltiness. The beer is pretty crisp and finishes dry.

M: Light bodied with moderately high carbonation. The beer has a bit more body than a typical Pils, because it is unfiltered.

O: Excellent; interesting concept to blend old and new world styles of Pilsner together. It’s also a great twist on a standard Czech Pilsner. The beer has a prominent hoppy aroma (similar in strength to Pivo Pils, but with a completely different hop profile) and flavor from the massive amount of dry-hopping.

64oz growler poured into a tulip, four days old.
L: Pale in color, fairly clear for an unfiltered beer. Head was light and shrunk rather fast.
S: Very light malt aroma, some lemongrass.
T: Distinct taste of Polish hops, reminiscent of Lech, Perla or even Zywiec. No longer the same taste signature of Pivo Pils with the replacement of Saphir for Lubelski and Marynka, closer to Saaz now. Hop forward and crisp.
M: Smooth, refreshing, clean
O: Great riff on Pivo Pils, Polish hops definitely change this beer quite a bit from its base. Very refreshing. Excited to try this since it has a limited run of 1-2 weeks.
