Aged in a 30 year old Evan Williams Blue Label barrel, a whiskey which isn't sold in the US. This is the first beer brewed for the barrel aging program and has been brewed every year since. Originally named after an experimental hop but now brewed with Fuggles which are earthy and resinous. Massive bourbon barrel notes that morph as the beer warms in the glass.

Pouring at the 2016 FWIBF. Smells like straight booze, but the whiskey is much more subtle in the taste. Mouthfeel is delicate and elegant. Very caramel like.

Poured into a snifter at Brouwer's Pub, Seattle. When I saw this on the menu, I had to have it, just to say I tried this elusive pour. 13.8%? Damn!
A: Bourbon brown with a light misting of tan head that left quickly.
S: Heavy duty bourbon dominates with light malts fighting their way to the top. A bit of pine resin, too.
T: Did they say massive? Oh hell yes. The bourbon slaps you in the face and takes charge as you sip slowly and submit to the Evan Williams overtones. Very light notice of resinous hops. Like drinking bourbon neat. Wow!
M: Low to medium with low carbonation. Dry, viscous.
O: This is a once in a lifetime drink that was one of the highlights of my Seattle visit. Firestone Walker creates some of the greatest beers on the planet and Bravo 30 was one of them.
