BWX/OMG! Celebrates the collaborative spirit shared between Brewery Ommegang and Firestone Walker Barrelworks. In late 2016, Firestone brewed a farmhouse style Saison with Ommegang, and fermented the beer, called Glimerglass, using Ommegang’s unique house yeast. Glimmerglass was then transferred to French Oak barrels, inoculated with Barrelworks’ wild yeast and lactic cultures, and aged 24 months to allow proper metamorphosis. This collaborative blend utilizes spicy Glimmerglass and funky Bretta Weisse as the canvas upon which a variety of fruit aromas play. A freshly crafted foeder of SLOambic (Wild Ale with Blackberries) was employed in the blend to add rich background notes of berry and bramble. We also used ZinSkin (Wild Ale with Zinfandel grapes) to further heighten the fruit notes and accentuate the tannic structure of the finish. We hope you enjoy! Santé

A: The beer is a little hazy amber yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a narrow collar of white bubbles around the edge of the glass and some specks of bubbles on the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of sourness are present in the nose along slight hints of berries.
T: The taste follows the smell and is quite sour with notes of berries and hints of oak. Hints of grapes also become perceptible as the beer begins to warm up.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and very tart on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is quite sour, but becomes more complex with fruity notes once the beer warms up.

Tint of ruby red but mostly a tan orange. It's the type of color in beer I always have trouble deciding what it is, dark orange?
Smell is sweet, musty zinfandel grapes with a little bit of tart raspberries.
Taste is hint of oak right off the bat. Follows the nose, sweet and musty fruits. Tannic, berry, grape, not much funk but musty.
Really well balanced beer not too tart or sour and subtly sweet. Having had SLOambic and ZinSkin I must say this is masterfully blended.
