On nitro tap at BC's Pizza & Beer
A: Pours cascading brown to nearly black with a creamy kark khaki head that slowly settles to a light layer and laces quite nicely.
S: Candied cherries and rich chocolate, herbal notes from the bitters, a touch of oak, dark sugar, smooth bourbon, and a little earthy spice.
T: Wow. Super unique. The cherry and chocolate bitters come right out up front, lots of milk chocolate and great candied cherry flavor, earthy herbal notes, smooth bourbon, a little spice, toffee and brown sugar, vanilla, and a bit of oak.
M: Just a bit on the lighter end of medium body, expectedly mild carbonation, creamy smooth, faint touch of warmth, but overall the alcohol is very well hidden.
O: The special keg of the night here is an absolute stunner. One of the benefits of being FW is certainly being able to get your hands on cool barrels like this to play around with, and they used them beautifully. Absolutely incredible beer. Probably not something you'd want more than a short pour at a time of, but it shows off all their years of expertise at crafting something truly special. Perfect slice of Black Forest cake in cocktail beer form.
