Comet is a classic yet largely overlooked American-grown hop variety that has become a favorite of our brewing team - inspiring them to create this single-hop hazy IPA that offers a bright floral citrus fruit character with hints of coconut.

APPEARANCE: Foggy golden, with a nice head of white foam and limited lace.
AROMA: Tropical juice, tangerine, pineapple, orange…really appealing.
TASTE: Dry on the palate, with notes of tropical fruit and a hint of bitter. A unique flavor profile here and a solid IPA.

It's a single hop hazy IPA allegedly with notes of coconut and floral.
Look: yellow with a thick white head
Aroma: fruit notes,
Flavor: I tasted some fruit, peach and grapefruit, and maybe some coconut or vanilla and grassy hops, but it was mild.
Body/Overall: medium body. This beer is OK.

Can to snifter. Vs mind haze, double mind haze...
Lightly hazy, medium yellow, small off white head. Poor retention.
Light grass and veggie.
Light grass and veggie.
Light body, easy sipping. Well balanced.
Not bad, but weak on flavor.

Grassy and herbal characteristics jump out on the aroma and flavor...then a good dose of pink grapefruit....Not getting the touch of coconut...
Body is on the light side of medium....feels a little thin in body....not creamy smooth on the texture like some...more of a charged up carbonated feel....combined with the thinner body that is this beers biggest knock and actually pulls my overall score down below 4 even though the taste and smell are at that or above the 4.0 mark.
Good flavors and aroma. Enjoyable.

12oz can. Poured out a slightly cloudy, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left little to no lacing on the glass. It smelled of coconut, caramel, pineapple with some pine notes. Sweet caramel taste with subtle coconut, citrus and a mild piney bitterness.

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy, pale lemon color with a soft, bright white head. SRM of 7. (3.75)
Aroma: Mild aromas of peach, sweet tropical fruit, melon/berry, some grapefruit citrus as well. (3.50)
Flavor: The flavor follows with more strawberry, peach, sweet tropical fruit, and some grapefruit and green grape. Mild malt profile. Really not much coconut that I detect. (3.75)
Feel: Lighter to medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Finishes clean. (3.75)
Compared to Summit's Saga IPA 3/1/21: Pours a lighter and hazier color. More peach, sweet tropical fruit, strawberry flavor. Less grapefruit, lemon, herbs.
Overall: A pretty mild and IPA as I expected for 5.6%. Admittedly, I'm not too familiar with the Comet hop. Apparently its supposed to give a bittering grapefruit flavor. I don't get much of that here. I also don't get much coconut either. I suppose that's not a bad thing, because I came for a beer rather than a pina colada. I guess I wasn't expecting much here, so I was slightly impressed. Would like to try more Comet hopped beers. This single hop is an interesting experiment from Firestone Walker. (Final Rating: 3.69)

Part of a variety 12-pack $15.98 Foodland
72 days old
Faint smell of coconuts, citrus
Hazy, golden color
Medium mouthfeel
High carbonation
Taste of alcohol comes through, which is surprising as it isn't a high ABV beer. Grapefruit, citrus flavors.
Overall just ok. Doesn't have the flavors of coconut it says it has. Would have thought this would have been better than their Luponics, but it fails. Alcohol taste makes it a poorly brewed beer to me. Definitely not worth buying a 12-pack to try this.
