Only 1 day until the dipa/tripa fest, here's possibly my last review of the prior year's (until Monday).
Pours dark gold to light amber color mannerism. 1/3" white head. Decent looking. Probably its best attribute. Pushes a mostly citrus and stone fruit hop nose. Orange and apricot/nectarine like feels in the aroma department.
Taste is similar, there is a presence of orange for the most part, a little bit of that fuzzy nectarine input. Body is light, but displays a bit more heft to it than some of the best triples. Light woodiness on it. Idaho 7 and Simcoe team up for a degree of bittering hops that are a throwback to some degree. It does drink easier than most 11%s, but there is a light bitter/booze sting nonetheless. Idaho 7 is kind of one of those tolerable hops that I think others do better (like Simcoe w/o Idaho 7 essentially). Am I spoiled on classic C or down under proprietary? Could be.
I could have been a dreamer has a sweet wolfpack line in it. Go Dio.
