Had at Selma's on a recent trip to Cali. Served from tap into a shaker. Poured golden yellow with a two finger white head. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, slight hop, and honey. The flavor was of sweet malt, slight hop, honey, and caramel. It had a light feel on the palate with mild carbonation. Overall this brew wasn't too bad. It was very well balanced in flavor. The aroma was decent, but not awe-inspiring. There was not much missing in this one considering the style, but nothing really extra either. Glad I got the chance to try this one.

On-tap at Selma's in San Clemente

A: The pour is a clear amber color, pretty dark for a blonde ale, with a dense, creamy white head.

S: Smells like honey malt all the way. A big sweet and floral honey aroma that really just takes over. Maybe a bit of a light hop aroma and some bread to go with it.

T: The flavor is just as solid as the nose. Sweet honey and malts with a slight breadiness to it. There's a mild hop character that is slightly floral and maybe a bit grassy with the faintest hint of bitterness.

M: Surprisingly substantial in body with a medium and slightly creamy carbonation.

D: Usually I'm not a blonde ale fan, but this was great. I really enjoyed drinking this and would certainly get this beer if I was to return.

Sampled 1/7/2011 at Selma's Chicago Pizzeria in San Clemente, CA.

Pours standard yellow American blonde, slight haze, tall fluffy white head, decent lacing and retention.

Aroma is honey, lots of honey, corn, malt, and a bit of citrus.

Flavor is sweet and heavy on the honey. I also detect the standard medium bittered blonde ale underneath along with some cardboard.

Light body, good drinkability.
