Had at Selma's while on a recent trip to Cali. Served from tap into a shaker. Poured straw yellow with a minimal white head. Maintained minimal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt and citrus hops. The flavor was of sweet malt and citrus hops. It had a medium feel on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall this brew wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. The sweet and bitter were balanced pretty nicely, but there really wasn't anything going on to keep you coming back for more. It did go down very smooth though, so I guess that counts for something, right? Worth trying but that is about it.

On-tap at Selma's in San Clemente

A: The pour is a clear amber-orange color with a finger of white head and some minimal lacing.

S: A decently hoppy nose, but maybe a little less citrusy than I'd have liked. Pretty heavy on the floral and grass notes but a fair amount of citrus peel to it as well. Bready malts provide the base for the beer, and it's a little on the sweet side.

T: Surprisingly bitter, considering the nose. I get a lot of bread here as well, and a bit of toast. Floral and bitter citrus peel notes provide the hop character. Sort of astringent on the finish.

M: The body is medium with a very crisp carbonation and a semi-dry finish.

D: Surprisingly, this was my least favorite of their three house beers. A pretty middle of the road pale ale.

Sampled 1/7/2011 at Selma's Chicago Pizzeria in San Clemente, CA.

Pours clear, dark yellow/light brown, creamy white head, decent retention and lacing.

Aroma is moderately hoppy, sweet, bready, and malty.

Flavor is sweet, chalky, kind of amber-like, piney, and bitter. Not bad but kind of mediocre.

Body is medium as is drinkability.
