Had at Selma's while on a recent trip to Cali. Served from tap into a shaker. Poured a hazy yellow orange with a minimal white head. Maintained excellent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, banana, and clove. The flavor was of sweet malt, banana, and clove. It had a light feel on the palate with high (almost burning) carbonation. Overall this was a pretty nice Hefe. Had an excellent flavor going on here. The aroma was a little weak for my liking, but I'm just being picky... This one is a must try for any Hefe fan or if you visit Selma's.

On-tap at Selma's in San Clemente
A: The pour is the typically turbid golden-orange color with a soapy white head. Unfortunately, served with a slice of lemon...
S: Fortunately, however, this is an actual hefeweizen. The nose is sweet with a decent amount of wheat along with banana and lots of orange peels. Fairly spicy, too.
T: This is probably a bit too bitter to be a proper hefeweizen, but it still works out. Banana and clove along with a touch of pepper. There's wheat and a slightly sweet bread flavor.
M: The body is medium with a smooth and rolling carbonation.
D: Always nice when the "hefeweizen" turns out to actually be one. Not the best one there is, but still pretty damn drinkable.

Sampled 1/7/2011 at Selma's Chicago Pizzeria in San Clemente, CA.
Pours murky yellow/orange, creamy white head, good lacing and retention.
Aroma is banana, grass, citrus, pepper, and wheat. Strange but oddly hoppy.
Flavor is sweet and heavy on the banana. Fairly standard (properly done) hefenweizen plus a lot of bitterness and a touch of citrus. The hops detract but it's still a good beer.
Light body, good drinkability.
