Brewed to barleywine strength and made with the pieces and parts that make British beer so unique and special, Firestone Walker pays tribute to the brewers across the pond in a dangerously drinkable and smooth Burton beer.
Deep mahogany and floating a creamy, slightly tarnish foam, Coopers Square drifts about with pleasant earthen sweet scent with dark fruit, toasted biscuit and hints of chocolate and coffee. As its sweetness rolls onto the early palate, the bold malt impressions of sorghum, honey, sticky toffee and the savory character of coffee cake provide a malty sweet introduction.
Remaining malty but not overly sweet, the firm grain foundation acts as a springboard for the dark and jammy fruits of fig, date, prune and dried apricot to provide a soft and estery edge while an earthy sense of savor extends with light chocolate, toast, coffee and malted milk before trending balancingly bitter with broad woodsiness, pipe tobacco and chicory.
Full bodied, rounded and rich on the palate, the ale shies away from barleywine sweetness and cloying, striving instead for more of a strong ale, stock ale character in masterful form. A long and malty aftertaste remains balanced with woodsy hops for a dangerously drinkable imperial beer.

Can pour - dark cola with short creamy beige head leaving minimal lacing. Nose is sweet with dark sugar and candied dark fruit. Taste follows with roasy malt and barrel wood. The barleywine blend definitely comes through in this tasty ale.
