Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a quarter finger chocolate head that dissipates to patches with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, chocolate, dark molasses, nuts, bourbon and light vanilla. Flavor is dark toasted malt, bourbon, chocolate, generic nuts, pecans, plums and vanilla. Lingering nutty-bourbon chocolate finish. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess. A fine nut stout with assertive bourbon barrel character. Some dried fruit notes probably from the bourbon and some mild vanilla. The flavors are well integrated. The bourbon would probably be a bit too aggressive if it weren't for the fine FW stout base. Flavorful and delicious. Nicely done. I'd probably score this a bit higher if it had been from another brewery, but my expectations are high for these guys and this met them.

Pours black with brown hues. Aroma is quite sweet - vanilla, bourbon & nuttiness. Taste follows nose - dominated by vanilla with complimentary bourbon and nuts. Mouthfeel is medium to full. Solid stout.

Look - fantastic looking beer! black and thick with a nice tan thick head and sticky lacing
Smell and taste - nice nut blend with lots of canilla, cocoa and barrel
Feel - full body with a lighter carb, slightly sticky
Overall - blend is nice and it's also nice to not be overly sweet

Bottle pour - used oil crankcase color, short khaki head, no lacing. Nose is sweet with hints of nuts and boozy barrel wood. Taste follows, vanilla forward. Vanilla dominates and lingers on the finish.

Dark as coal with very tan head. Nose is sweet with a slight burnt hint. Taste was very much sweet, hazelnut. Not much char (which I like), again not much bourbon flavors either (which is surprising). Still without the char and bourbon flavors coming through as I wanted, still a great stout!
