Our friends at MadeWest in Ventura are no strangers to West Coast IPA and we got together with them at The Propagator to brew this small batch of IPA featuring Mosaic, Krush, and experimental HBC 1019 hops. A light base of pilsner, 2-row, flaked rice, and Carafoam malts provides a clean canvas to showcase this killer hop blend that expresses aromatics of stone fruit (think peach and apricot), blueberry, mango, and dank sticky green hop cones. A clean fermentation character from our house lager yeast makes for a pure hop and malt expression and exceptional drinkability.

West coast is more often a mindset than a region. Its also flavor tied to that region that has spread far reaching. But teaming up with MadeWest Brewing, Firestone Walker is taking it all back to Cali.
Pouring a mildly hazy golden color, Short Stay brings a frothy white cap and a floral pine scent laced with citrus, stone fruit and herbal grasses. But a low-lying sweetness first greets the palate with fresh kilned gain, toasted wafer and a light nuttiness. Short-lived in its sweetness, the middle palate gives way to a bold hop flavor of apricot and orange peel ahead of a grapefruit bitterness with fresh spruce, lemongrass and verbena.
Medium bodied and trending mostly dry, the bitter leaning beer closes with peppery resins and a long bitter aftertaste in true west coast form.

Pours straw yellow in color with a VERY slight cloudiness, still very much see through though. White bubbly head. Nose is pine, citrus maybe a pineapple hint. Taste was pure WCIPA, hop pineyness, citrus white pepper finish. Nice bitterness on backend, but could use more!
