12 oz bottle into a snifter
Firestone went for a more widely available pastry stout, and it’s a gem. Super chewy chocolate marshmallow confectionery, that screams for some pistachios (or water!) to back it.
Deep, dark brown ale, oily viscous with no head. Wafts of cocoa and vanilla bean pummel the nose, with a nice liquory heat at the edge.
You could eat this brew with a fork, and it’s got a nice, dry, carob-y aspect that kicks in mid-sip. Long sweet finish.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque in the glass with a fizzy, thin chocolate head that dissipates to nothing with a ring of bubbles around the glass; not lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, vanilla, cocoa, bourbon, nuts and hints of coconut and coffee. Flavor is dark toasted malt, vanilla, bourbon, dried plums, hazelnuts, mild coconut; not tasting much coffee at all. Medium bodied with moderate to heavy creaminess and unctuous mouth feel. A somewhat busy flavored stout, with vanilla the dominant flavor, but bourbon barrel character close behind; a bit hot. Nice hazelnut and not much coconut. Fairly sweet. I would consider this a dessert stout and probably a candidate for pastry stout category. The mouth feel is really sturdy, with great carbonation and creaminess despite near still pour. The dark chocolate head was quite nice, wish it lasted longer. An interesting but busy stout.

Pours deep jet black. Aroma is definite sweetness. Great, well balanced combination of extreme vanilla, bourbon, coffee, hazelnuts with hints of coconut. Taste follows nose with equal balance & intensity. Full mouthfeel. Incredible stout.

Fleeting reddish tan cap poured at 53.2°; thin ring; coconut floaties; no cap retention; no lace; black with ruby edge; no legs on swirl. Bourbon, caramel, coconut; very little booze in retronasal. Taste of semi sweet caramel; bourbon; vanilla, coconut, and some nutty sweet hazelnut on finish; still looking for coffee. Creamy mouth feel ; almost chewy, but not adjuncty ; minimal carbonation, surprisingly minimal warmth from 13.6% ABV. Overall outstanding; layers of well balanced flavors; perhaps a tad sweet, but all additions are present and complementary except for perhaps the coffee. Glad I bought several bottles.

epic stuff here, done with omnipollo and fraugruber, hence the name, international and epic, loaded with coconut but the other elements are rad too, but the key here for me is that the special barrels pop the most, this isnt flavored to oblivion at the expense of the quality bourbon, older elijah craig and henry mckenna barrels, that would have been a shame, the extras in this all serve to accentuate the bourbon brilliance, so good, very heavy, full bodied, and special, lucky me! this is really dense, obsidian black, almost still, and super slick feeling, sweet and strong both, boozy the whole way from nose to finish, enough bourbon to almost present like some was blended in, way woody, charred, and mature, and all of the extras seem real and high end to me, vanilla beans and lots of them, hazelnuts, coffee, and coconut, which seems toasted and potent, really great mix of flavors here, warm and wintery, a slow sipper to be sure. i love how this flows, vanilla essence with lots of roast, nice espresso perfectly extracted, a caramel and chocolate malty center, then an increase in the wood and whiskey elements, also the actual alcohol intensity, a heavy drop of coconut pushing to the fore before the finish, which actually has some real bitterness to it, keeps this balanced. hazelnut isnt heavy in here, an accent, the least forward of the elements but still recognizable and nice, some of that in the aftertaste here, elite bourbon overall, tons of it, late coffee recall, brown sugar, hot pavement, and german chocolate cake. its decadent and indulgent but not diabetic and gross from a sweetness standpoint, and in that regard this is more palatable than the parabolita mocha latte edition i had right before it. the base stout is epic here, and without anything but the barrel treatment would also be a joy to drink, this is silky and slick and has some glide for how big it is overall. of the finest quality, this is when firestone is at their best i think, the big barrel aged dark ones, and this is next level. very cool collaboration, highly recommended, great mix of the elements and the barrels, loved it!

Super dark black with a dark brown/tan head. Nose is very sweet, almost a maple syrup smell. Taste is also very sweet, more vanilla than anything. Then fairly quickly the warmth from the ABV builds.
