Poured at 53.2°. No bottling information other than 2025. Fast creamy dark tan head; poor Retention; thin ring at best; small spots on swirl with thin legs; Black with ruby edges. Nose is whiskey with some booze on the exhale; chocolate. Taste is chocolate upfront; some toffee as it warms; no sweetness; whiskey finish. Dry rye tongue coating; medium body; light carbonation; full mouth warmth from 13.8% ABV; a light alcohol bite on tip of my tongue. Overall, great balance of base and barrel; dry rye notes, and dark chocolate; no adjuncts added; clean boozy finish.

Look - black and thick with a nice rimming and lacing, not much of a head
Smell and taste - so much spiced rye barrel with some slight cocoa malts
Feel - medium full body with a lighter carb
Overall - great beer

Pours jet black with a tiny tan head. Nose is boozy but also nutty. Reminds me of pecans. Also as it warms I get some tobacco. Taste is more chocolate than anything else. Backend taste was maple syrup. Expected warmth from the ABV but nope.

12 oz bottle into a snifter
Dark brown ale, moderate carbonation for the style, wispy head never fully recedes.
Nose is of toasted oak, cocoa, pit fruit and tobacco.
Super oaky in the palate, bready. Suggestions of raisins, unsweetened chocolate, hint of toffee. Medium clean finish.
Old school barrel aged stout, if there is such a thing. More roasty toasty and dry - on the other end of the spectrum from a pastry stout. Nice sipper.
