2015 keg, released specifically for Windsor’s homebrew 10th anniversary party.
A- pours deep amber in color with a one finger creamy off white head that leaves plenty of lacing behind
S- some faded floral hops, brown bread, caramel, brown sugar, cherries, light oaky bourbon notes
T- slightly bitter up front with some floral notes as well as some orange peel. Mid-palate gives brown sugar, bread crust, a hint of caramel. The finish gives a maraschino cherry note with oaky bourbon emerging on the linger
M- medium body with low carbonation, foamy mouthfeel and slightly warming finish

This is Firestone Walker's Double DBA. I had a 2014 and this beer is amazing. Plenty of malt and character to match the 12% ABV. Amazing color and nose. This beer is a great one for the winter.

A one-off at the Copper Hog, Bellingham, WA. Aged, I believe, in Dry Fly, whiskey barrels, served from firkin. Served in straight pint glass. Poured a clean, clear dark amber color, very still with no head.
The aroma was the nice grain of the base beer, with just enough whiskey showing through to be interesting. On the tongue, the beer was a pleasant surprise, the whiskey matched the solid Pale just right. Some good grains, some tart hops, and the whiskey balanced everything nicely.
The body was nicely medium, smooth and had a very clean finish. Drinkability was nearly excellent, I had a couple and was sad indeed when the firkin was empty. Overall, a very good experiment. I hope the brewery takes a chance on doing this on a larger scale. It would be a very popular beer indeed.
