750ml bottle into a 16oz tulip for tasting.
A — Woah gusher! This thing just about exploded upon opening, a big geyser. It settles and pours out a super murky and hazy brown hue into the glass. There is a white head on it, but it fades quite quickly and leaves almost no lacing.
S — Smells of tart sour bacteria, quite a bit of lacto, and maybe some pedio, quite acidic and tart. Leads way to a salty and savory, almost nutty component, super miso forward and quite dominant.
T — Taste is again dominated by miso and salt, quite tart as well, but it really is savory as well, very salty and chewy while being somewhat sour.
M — Light-Medium bodied, ample carbonation, effervescent.
O — OK, really bizarre, but unique certainly. A really savory sour.

This is described as "a sour ale brewed with miso paste." It's definitely sour, though not vinegary, and the miso comes through with that salty, meaty flavor.
Pale yellowish, cloudy in the glass, and the first pour is a big foam-up. Settles down to a headless but prickly stew of flavors. It's the smell that is off-putting. Sort of lemon rind with overcooked cauliflower. The flavor is acidic but not outrageous. The miso gives it quite a salty tang.
Fruity and murky with a lemon aftrtaste. Overall this is an intriguing idea. MIso is such a nice flavor, but I don't think beer is ready for it. From the 750 ml bottle purchased at Special Brews in Lynnwood.
