On tap at Peg's. Served in a snifter.

Appearance - Black with no head. Oily surface. Looks like when we french press stouts with coconut flakes.

Smell - Buckets of coconut. Really nice. Smells like when we french press stouts with coconut. Chocolate. Some rum, but coconut dominates.

Taste - Huge coconut again. Rum is strong here, though. Very sweet. Chocolate behind it. Sweet coconut finish.

Mouthfeel - Heavy and slick. Boozy.

Overall - Very tasty. I remember not enjoying Rare with Coconut. This is really sweet, but tasty.

Reviewed from notes. Had on tap at the Cycle One-Year Anniversary event. Served in a Cycle snifter.

A: Pours an opaque, very dark brown. Forms a half-finger of tan head with good retention and low visible carbonation.

S: Rum and coconut in a nice balance, with chocolate, vanilla, and woody oak.

T: Rum/booze up front, then chocolate, rich roasted malts, vanilla, coconut and wood dryness. A touch of coffee flavor develops as it warms. Sweet malts and sweet rum in the hang.

M: Heavy and thick-bodied, and smoother with a bit less carbonation than some of the other DOS variants I had today. Not overly hot, although the alcohol presence is obvious.

O: This was very good, although it lacks the "wow" factor that some of the other variants had today. I thought the coconut presence could have been increased somewhat - there's a lot going on here and it could have stood out more. Still, excellent beer.
