Reviewed from notes. Had on tap at the Cycle One-Year Anniversary event. Served in a Cycle snifter.
A: Pours an extremely dark brown, and opaque. Has a half-finger of tan head with good retention and low visible carbonation.
S: Sweet rum, vanilla, cacao, and chilis. The chili presence seems a bit subdued compared to the other variants on tap today (Ampersand Plus in particular).
T: Rum up front, barrel oak, vanilla and chocolate, chilis on the back end and on the exhale. Malty sweetness and ethanol sugars. I'm getting more charred oak barrel from this one as well. Rum and residual chilis on the hang.
M: Thick, heavy body. Sticky mouthfeel, low carbonation. This seems more alcohol-forward / boozier than the other variants I tried, but not obnoxious.
O: This was good, but definitely takes a backseat to some of the other treatments available today. Tasty, just not a standout among the many others.
