Reviewed from notes. Had on-tap at Peg's. Served in a Peg's snifter glass. I was told that this beer was aged in a second-use Brett barrel.
A: Deep brown with a bit of red highlights. Fairly low visible carbonation with a one-finger off-white head that dissipates quickly.
S: Sour and tart, brown roasted malt, fruity (apple and plum mostly), maybe some candied sugar. Only mildly funky.
T: Follows the nose. Fruity, sour and tart, with apples, pears, plums. Some sweet-ish malt might be there, but only if I really work at finding it. A bit of funk & tannins from the barrel wood. This is a touch vinegar-y. The sourness lingers after the swallow.
M: Medium weight to the body, low carbonation but the tingly sourness substitutes in the mouthfeel. Minimal alcohol impact.
O: This was a very tasty sour. Kind of a one-trick-pony, but i like that trick.
